Montréal, 24 novembre 2016 — Trois clients parmi un groupe de consommateurs d’origine arabe qui se sont vus refuser le service puis ont été expulsés d’un Tim Hortons dans l’arrondissement de Saint-Laurent, ont décidé de déposer contre le restaurant des plaintes pour discrimination raciale.

UPDATE: POLICE ETHICS COMMISSIONER ACCEPTS COMPLAINT OF BIASED POLICE CONDUCT IN CONSUMER RACIAL PROFILING CASE


Montréal, December 6, 2016 — An English-speaking Black mother accused of theft at Maxi in Lasalle and forcefully expelled by two police officers has successfully filed a request for review of the Deputy Police Ethics Commissioner’s decision to reject her case at the outset.

The complaint is now headed for conciliation under the Commissioner's auspices, next February.

Montreal, November 15, 2016 — CRARR will proceed with a civil rights complaint to the Quebec human rights commission on behalf of the former President of Concordia University's Graduate Students Association (GSA), Alex Ocheoha, who experienced regular harassment during his term of office from other GSA directors.

CRARR FOUND MAJOR FLAWS WITH CONCORDIA'S SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY


Montreal, October 25, 2016 — Concordia University needs to urgently correct its inconsistent policies on sexual harassment in order to better protect victims of gender-based discrimination and other forms of harassment.

This is CRARR's main finding and recommendation in working on cases of discrimination and harassment based on gender, race and sexual orientation at Concordia.
