CRARR SEEKS YOUTHS OF COLOR WHO HAVE BEEN FINED IN MONTREAL'S SUBWAY

Montreal, December 27, 2009 --- Asian, Arab, Black and Hispanic youths of color, aged 14 to 20, who have received fines or tickets from Montreal Transit Corporation Inspectors within the last 6 months, for not having proof of their payment on them (even if they have paid their rider fare, for up to $214) and interfering with the inspectors' work (such as verbally contesting a fine, for up to $324), are encouraged to contact CRARR at crarr@primus.ca.

CRARR is preparing civil rights complaints on behalf of several Black youths who were abusively fined since November. More details will be made public in the new year.
