RACIAL DISCRIMINATION IN EMPLOYMENT IN THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRY CONTINUES: CRARR SET TO ACT

Montreal, August 28, 2012 --- Racial discrimination against Canadians born in certain countries deemed hostile to U.S. national security continues in the local aerospace industry as a man of Middle-Eastern descent was recently denied a position simply on the basis of his birth place, even though he has been living in Canada and been a citizen since childhood.

This form of discrimination is widely practiced among Canadian companies that receive U.S. military contracts and that are subsequently subject to the State Department's ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations). ITAR prohibits contractors to employ people born in proscribed countries such as China, Cuba, Ethiopia, Haiti, Lebanon, Venezuela and Vietnam.

CRARR will soon proceed with legal action aimed at striking down such unlawful and unconstitutional practices.
