NEW INTIATIVE: SEMINAR ON MEDIA POLICY AND DIVERSITY

crarrinfo - Posted on 16 December 2011

As part of its public education mandate, CRARR will co-host a new initiative with faculty members of the Communication Studies Department (CSD) of Concordia University.

The initiative, the Seminar on Media Policy and Diversity, will be held in the Winter Semester and feature practitioners and policymakers of diversity in the media. The Annual Seminar is a ”spin-off” activity of the Gail Guthrie Valaskakis Annual Lecture on Diversity and Canadian Media, a joint venture between CRARR and the CSD that was created in 2005, with the support of the University and then-CHUM (now BellMedia).

The main Speakers at the 2012 Seminar will be Ms. Martine Vallée, Director of Social and Consumer Policy, at the Canadian Radio-Television Commission (CRTC), and Mr. Jed Kahane, News Director, CTV Montreal.

The Seminar is open to all faculty members and students of the Communication Studies Department and the Journalism Program.
